Meows and Future Plans. #2014

Hello!!

We meet again, my dear blog world. I can not believe it is already 2014, and that I will be graduating in 3.5 months. Yoikes! I am definitely nervous for the real world, but I am honestly very ready to start a new chapter of my life. Four years in one city is killing me. It is time to relocate, pleaseandthxyouz. A nomad cannot be tied down!

I will now share with you my list of places I might be moving to and have been researching/ daydreaming about.

1. Hong Kong
2. Singapore
3. Shanghai
4. New York
5. Sydney
6. Melbourne
7. London
8. LA/or San Fran
9. Penang, Malaysia
10. Bangkok

I'm not sure if I want to stay in the U.S, even though I get a "freebie" year after graduation to find a job and get sponsored. I think I miss Asia too much to stay...sorry America. Welp, I still have 3 and a half months so we shall see what happens. These last few months will be filled with working on my BFA Exhibition (graduation show) which opens March 14th, applying for jobs, looking for possible residencies and programs in random places like India (hehe) and building my portfolio. Basically three months of...getting my shit together.

Chicago's bitter cold weather (polar vortex??) is not helping. It has come to the point where -5 Celsius is considered "warm." Like today, which was the first day in WEEKS (since I got back actually) that I did not wear my knee length North Face out. It was warm but...there was a snow storm the whole day. Sigh.

But instead of rambling on about my getting-shit-together and permanent popsicle state, I shares with you some lovely music. What is a better gift...than the gift of music!

and then I will share pictures in my next post! Really. I haven't touched film in awhile, but I recently got a Sony NEX-3N which has kindly provided me with some nice pictures from winter break (I went to Vancouver, Vegas, Hong Kong and Singapore).

Meow,
enjoy!!

Maybe just some roadside scene that we're driving past
There's no telling where we'll be in a day or in a week
And there's no promises of peace or of happiness"

Painting Tunes

It's been a rainy couple of days. The kind of days where I wish I had a huge covered patio that I could read and paint under while it rained heavily around me. As much as I enjoyed relaxing at home to Harry Potter (hehe), I was so bummed that I didn't get to go to the zoo or Botanical Gardens. So my dear Singapore, pleaseplease stop raining so I can enjoy my last week here...

Today, I vill share tunes from my 8tracks favorite list. These playlists have been accompanying me on my larding adventures. A wee bit of everything but mostly oldies and then french songs :)

The first one is by Tavi Gevinson! For those of you who do not know her, she is a fashion/lifestyle blogger who I lovelovelove. and shes only 16? Check out her blog The Style Rookie or her online magazine she started called Rookie Mag

Happy listening, i'm off to finish my painting xx

Gobble Gobble!

Happy (late) Thanksgiving ya'll!

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday (if you celebrate it) because I did! I went to LA with some of my friends from Shanghai and had a mini-reunion, its was so fun!...and the weather was so nice, unlike gloomy Chicago. Now I'm back and, I JUST WANT TO HERMIT! please.

Back to LA. We didn't do much because we did not have a car but, it was still nice walking around and exploring to Santa Monica. I was so sad we didn't get to go to the Getty or the Museum of Jurassic Technology (which you should all check out here).

Also! I came back with two new electronic babies: a Kindle Fire and a new Canon Powershot. Best black friday purchase ever :)

On the downside..I only took 2 pictures I really approve of, including this one of pancakes. yumyumyum! If you're ever in LA check out Jack and Joe's, it is at/near USC :)

These were taken with my friend's camera because my screen is just too small! It is so small that I can't tell if the picture is clear enough. Maybe it's time I get a new DSLR...hmm

and i'm addicted to Daby Toure.

Moon River, we're after the same rainbow's end

Exciting newsss! The Gene Siskel Film Center is running Breakfast at Tiffany's this month. Just the thought of seeing Ms. Hepburn on the big screen...I hope I can make it to a showing :3 and considering it IS just right downstairs, I do not know why I don't watch the amazing movies they run more often.

I thought I'd share by far, one of my favorite scenes/songs in the world.

Moon Riverrrrr, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style someday...

Oh, and while youtube-ing Moon River, I found an amazing cover by the Honey Trees. They, she, them are absolutely incredible. I am in love with her voice!

Makes my heart flutter every time...
