Reprise

Hello, World!!

It has been quite a while (as usual). I'm pretty sure that is how I start each blog post. Anyways, I also just realized that this is my first post of 2013!...and as a legal-drinker-of-alcohol in Americuh ;)

Updates updates updates-

1. I finally got a new computer. WELL, initially I impulsively bought a Microsoft Surface Pro while in Seattle with my family. It...just kind of happened. I blame the really really cool ads on TV. Curse you, advertising power!

Long story short, I bought it just for the instant gratification and the disdain for my horrible excuse for a Macbook. End of story, I used it for 2 weeks (shh), didn't like it and returned it. Then proceeded to buy a refurbished Macbook Pro. So YAY! Proper working computer now, so I really have no excuses for not posting more pictures.

2. I finally turned 21. Being 21 has been somewhat bittersweet. Bitter because it's crazy to think about how fast time has flown by. I feel like I was the overly excited teenager moving to Chicago not so long ago, and now I'm 21 and it's my last year of school! Crazy. Sweet because well, I do not have to worry if my fake will be rejected anymore (woo hoo)! I guess I am also excited to move on with my life and start making da Ca$H. Start making something of my existence~

3. I got an internship at Bloomingdales with the visuals department! I was supposed to work there this summer but ran into some legal/registration? problems. So, after a month of calls, office visits and stress I decided to do it in the fall and take classes instead.

4. I've been filling up my time with drawing, reading and just enjoying Chicago summer. I just started reading Lolita. It has been really good so far but, I have to be in the mood~ haha for such a dense book that I've been balancing it out by re-reading Eat, Pray, Love.

Okay, enough yapping. Here are some photos from my family trip around Vancouver, Vancouver Island and Seattle.

WHALE!!!

Eating my way to Malaysia

Hi-dee-ho!

So, you know how I was super excited to go buy Harry Potter and smell old books at the second hand bookstore after work yesterday? They were all closed... :( All the stores (with Indian owners) had closed early for fasting because of Hari Raya. Aiya, I guess I'll wait.

On the other hand! I started reading the Hobbit hehe during my trip to Malaysia last Saturday. It was just a day trip on a eating+shopping tour with my Auntie's colleagues. I ate so. much. The whole day was literally traveling on the bus, stopping at farms/factories and tasting/buying heaps of food.

Lunch was only durian and fruit. That shit cray.

This is my grandma on the bus :)

Durian buffet lunch!

Have a happy day and enjoy some tunes! xx

The First 2012

So, it's been a long whileee mi friends. My last post was 2011 and now, it is already JULY 2012. I can not believe how fast time is moving nowadays. Please stop, time!

Anyways, it was my birthday yesterday, woohoo. Well, not really, because turning 20 was definitely a reality smack in the face. Shits getting real, people. Oh and did I mention I was in Singapore?

Okay, updatesupdates. SINCE my last post, I have

1. decided to leave the fashion program (it was making my life utterly depressing, did I mention I broke down during a crit? yeah.)  and am moving towards illustration and visual communication.

2. moved out of the dorms and found an apartment with my lovely friend Erica. I can't wait to decorate!

3. went to Vietnam and Cambodia with my family for 2 weeks

4. finally came back to Singapore and am now interning for Zen Wu Design (practicing dem illustrator/photoshop skillz)

That seems like an adequate amount of updates for half a year, right?
and back to my birthday! I went to dinner with two of my friends at PS Cafe on Dempsey Hill. It was beyond amazing, I will post pictures tonight.

For now here are some film photos from and Cambodia. The first half was taken in the countryside while we were on an ATV tour and then second half is Angkor Watt. Everything was so so beautiful, it was nice not to be trapped between tall buildings for a change.
